A 21-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the abduction of a Wisconsin teenager and the murder of her parents, nearly three months after she went missing.

Jake Thomas Patterson is accused of kidnapping 13-year-old Jayme Closs of Barron, Wis., who was found alive in Patterson's town of Gordon on Thursday, police said at a press conference.

He was arrested without incident and is facing first-degree intentional homicide and kidnapping charges, according to jail records.

"Jake Patterson had zero criminal history locally and zero criminal history in the state of Wisconsin," Barron County Sheriff Chris Fitzgerald said.

Closs had been missing for nearly three months after she disappeared from her Barron home on Oct. 15 where her parents, James and Denise, were found shot to death.

She was rescued Thursday afternoon — dirty and malnourished — in a remote, wooded area about 65 miles north of her hometown after she escaped and approached a neighbor for help.

After being missing for 88 days, authorities said she was taken to the hospital and was in the process of being reunited with family members.

Police declined to elaborate on the specifics of her abduction and captivity, citing the ongoing investigation.
